Brainsway Deep TMS, was FDA-approved in 2013, and is a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate the nerve cells in the brain that are responsible for depression, and is transforming the lives of patients who suffer from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). 33% of MDD patients are resistant to any medication and 52% fail to respond to first-line therapy.

Patients who have not seen improvement in their MDD symptoms using other treatments may finally find relief with Deep TMS. The treatment is safe with none of the negative side effects associated with antidepressant medications and other depression treatments.  There is no nausea, weight gain, sexual dysfunction, sedation, chronic diarrhea, dry mouth, rash or memory impairment with TMS. There were no negative effects on memory and ability to concentrate, or need for anesthesia as there is with electroconvulsive therapy or ketamine.

Deep TMS offers significant improvement by giving patients more energy, positive thoughts, and a better outlook on life. While results are typically noticeable after three or four weeks of treatment, some patients have reported better moods right away.

Most insurance companies pay for Deep TMS therapy if a person has a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder, Single Episode, Severe (F32.2) or Major Depressive Disorder, Recurrent, Severe (F33.2) and meets the medical necessity criteria specific to their insurance company.  Our prior authorization team will work with your insurance company to make sure all necessary paperwork is completed before your first treatment.

Deep TMS has multiple clinical trials and treatment protocols for disorders such as OCD, PTSD, Migraines, Bipolar Depression, Schizophrenia, Tinnitus, Parkinson's, MS, and addictions, such as smoking, opiates, alcohol and food cravings.  It is being widely used in Europe to treat multiple disorders, and has a CE designation for 13 indications.
